His unconventional practices – employed at a time when design was still largely segregated from other departments during the development process – yielded many avantgarde and contentious designs, but Bangle's fundamental understanding of the design process, creative vision and desire for change can never be cast in doubt. Ford is celebrating 50 years of the Mustang with this imaginatively titled 50th Year Limited Edition Mustang. Strangely for a car that invented what we know today as the options and accessories list, you can only choose the colour (white or blue) and whether to have a manual or automatic transmission. Every other options box is ticked, while extra chrome highlights, louvered rear windows and a faux rear filler cap are exclusive to this birthday edition.
Zagato recently unveiled their bespoke Ferrari 575GTZ at Villa d'Este Concours d'Elegance in Italy. Zagato, based in nearby Milan, was commissioned by Japanese collector Yoshiyuki Hayashi to create a new body for his 575M in the style of the 250GTZ Berlinetta. Despite the same underpinnings as the 575M the whole car has been remodelled, striking a balance between its Fifties forebear and more contemporary Ferraris.
